Intake Evaluation
Online or in-person, this is the first session that every new client will complete. The intake session will be spent gathering information about your unique goals, symptoms, history of therapy, and overall mental health status. We will confirm if we are a good fit to work together and come up with a preliminary plan for treatment.

Therapy is a highly individualized process. The length of therapy depends on your unique situation and goals. Once I have a clear picture of your presenting problem, we will collaborate on making a treatment plan. As we move through treatment, we will work together to evaluate your progress and adjust as needed. I am committed to being communicative and transparent throughout the process.

Research supports weekly sessions as the most effective frequency for speedy and effective change (Erekson et al., 2015). I highly recommend that all clients start at weekly sessions, if possible. Typically, my treatment approach involves gradually transitioning to biweekly or monthly sessions for maintenance purposes once substantial progress toward client goals has been reached. This will be a collaborative decision.
I do not offer monthly sessions as a starting point because I cannot guarantee the effectiveness of my services in such a timeframe. Ensuring the best possible outcomes for my clients is paramount.

I am an “out of network provider,” which means I do not directly bill any insurance companies. However, if your insurance plan includes out of network benefits, you can seek partial reimbursement for session fees. Fees are due at the time of service, and I will provide you a monthly “superbill” with all the information needed to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. Seeking OON reimbursement requires you to have a diagnosis on record.
Not participating in insurance allows me to keep client information more confidential and avoid restrictive policies that are imposed by insurance companies.

I reserve a small portion of my caseload for clients who are experiencing financial hardship and require a reduced fee to access services. Please reach out and about my policy and availability if you think you might meet criteria for a sliding scale option.
